In Memoriam – Chief Louis J. Pasquarell Jr.
The Jonesville Fire Department mourns the loss of a pillar of our community, Life Member Lou Pasquarell Jr., who began his dedicated service to this department in 1969.
Throughout his remarkable career, Lou served with distinction, holding numerous leadership positions and guiding the department as Chief for 26 years. His vision and passion for the fire service were instrumental in molding the Jonesville Fire Department to new heights, establishing advancements and protocols that are still utilized today.
Lou was not just a leader, but a mentor to generations of firefighters. His unwavering commitment to the department, even through the most challenging times, has left an indelible mark on our history. While Lou will be deeply missed, his legacy of service, dedication, and leadership will never be forgotten.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Pasquarell and Champagne families during this incredibly difficult time. Know that we are here to support you in any way we can, and our doors are always open to you.
Lou, you have answered your final alarm. Your service to the Jonesville community was monumental, and you have earned your rest.

Lou was my Essentials of Firemanship instuctor in 1984
Lou was a mentor and was by my side as a young Lieutenant in 1987 where I was the Incident Commander of a working apartment fire on Rt 9
Lou continued to be a mentor during my entire fire service career
Lou and Lois were always saving us a spot at the several fire department banquets we attended
Lou became a dear friend even attending my retirement party in 2024
Lou will be missed by many and I too share that pain having him to call over the past 40 years
