Public Hearing on 2021 Proposed Budget

Station 1

Date:   October 20, 2020

Time:   7:00 PM

Present:  Commissioners Boss, Byrnes, Miller, Murphy, and Tobin; Treasurer, Parseghian.

Commissioner Miller moved, and Commissioner Byrnes seconded the motion to open the Public Hearing for the 2021 Proposed Budget.

Commissioner Miller called the hearing on the 2021 Proposed Budget to order at 7:03 PM and requested the Board wait for any members of the public to arrive.

Commissioner Tobin entered the meeting at 7:12 PM.

Commissioner Tobin inquired how the meeting was advertised to the public.  Treasurer Parseghian responded that the legal notice of the Public Hearing was emailed to both of the District’s newspapers of record and to the Town of Clifton Park, posted on the District’s website, and posted on the Town of Clifton Park’s website.

Commissioner Miller stated that this was a Public Hearing to discuss the 2021 Proposed Budget for the Jonesville Fire District and the purpose of the public hearing is to allow members of the public to make comments regarding the budget.  Commissioner Miller presented the 2021 Proposed Budget and the 2021 Spending Limit.  He commented that while the 2021 Spending Limit allows the District to raise taxes for a budget up to $2,725,773, the Board was proposing a budget of only $1,516,610.

There were no additional comments from the Board.

Commissioner Miller moved, and Commissioner Byrnes seconded the motion to close the Public Hearing on the 2021 Proposed Budget at 7:17 PM.
